The general information about our delivery will change during this lock-down period - here are some main pointers below

  • We are still dispatching online orders during the lock-down period
  • All deliveries will be sent by contact-less courier, any orders will be sent out with AUTHORITY TO LEAVE
  • Please allow for longer dispatch times during this lock-down period
  • If you would like your order to be left somewhere in particular please let us know
  • Shipping days may change depending on availability of our courier
  • Our factory shop is closed, pick up is not available during this time
  • International delivery is not available

General Information

To ensure freshness, our chocolates are handcrafted every day.   We make our very best effort to ensure that your order is dispatched within 72 hrs* upon receipt of your order (Monday to Friday).  If your order needs to arrive by a certain date, please let us know and we will prioritise your order.  You can leave us a message in the gift message area when you go through the checkout, or you can send us an email once you have placed your order.     Our processing time may be longer during the peak seasonal times such as Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter due to the large amount of orders we receive.

Shipping Days

Our shipping days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Depending on the temperature (especially in the summer months November through to March if the temperature rises above 25 degrees) we may decide not to ship orders on any given day.  We also do not generally dispatch on a Friday, but if you do require your order urgently we do have the option of Saturday delivery at an extra charge.  Our busy oompa loompas do not dispatch on Saturday or Sunday or public holidays.  

Delivery Costs

Delivery costs are applied to the order prior to your order being submitted.  We use New Zealand couriers, a premium express courier service.  We have chosen a premium service so the quality of your chocolates is not compromised and to ensure your parcel arrives to you in tip top condition, the last thing we want and I am sure you will want also is to have your parcel held up at a courier warehouse & melt!

Delivery within New Zealand

Please allow 1-2 business days from time of dispatch for delivery of your chocolates, a dispatch email will be sent when your order has been dispatched.

Rural Delivery anywhere in New Zealand may incur additional freight costs;  if you have a rural delivery address but have not chosen a rural freight option we will change this for you, we will contact you prior to goods being dispatched if there are additional costs.  Please allow extra time for delivery if you live in a rural area, we do not guarantee overnight delivery to rural addresses.

If you have chosen the wrong shipping option during the checkout process we will update this for you and let you know.

To limit the possibility of chocolate melting on your doorstep or in your letter box - if you are unlikely to be at home during the day, we recommend you have your parcel delivered to your work address or an address where someone will be present to receive your parcel. 

Christchurch residents

During the checkout you will have the ability to choose pick up from our factory.  Just select this option when you are on the shipping page.  If you do select this we will advise you when you order is ready to pick up. 

International Delivery

Shipping charges for Australian orders will be calculating after your order has been processed.  Orders are not tracked outside of New Zealand and Chocolate Traders will not be liable for any import or custom taxes that may apply to your order.  If you would like your chocolate delivered to another country please get in touch with us and we will provide you with a shipping estimate.


We do take responsibility for parcels lost in transit in New Zealand before they reach your home as long as we are notified within 2 working days of non-delivery.  We cannot accept responsiblity for your parcel once delivery has been made.
